My ballet class centers itself in musicality, precision, coordination, differentiation and the joy of balletic expertise. Presently, I am focusing on the balletic state of \u00e9paulment in order to access counter rotations and specificity in the complex whole. The class is informed by the many experiences, methods and teachers I have come in contact with during my 30 plus years working in dance. Participants are encouraged to practice confidence while developing their identity as dance artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using the release technique, we begin by consciously activating every part of our body on the ground and then releasing the tension and allowing gravity to pull us towards the ground. Participants learn to use the energy generated by gravity through increasingly off-balance movements while in an upright position, alternating between starting from the centre of the body and with different body parts. We will then develop short choreographies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s Move <\/strong>– This class will focus on rhythmically directing the body through the space. It will progress from basic to complex movement exercises both on place and travelling. Starting slow and increasing the usage of space, time and energy, the emphasis will be put on dance technique and musicality.\u00a0 Underlying principles from Humphrey-Limon tradition will support the class trajectory.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
